Services Provided by Bathurst Community Transport

Bathurst Community Transport Group offers a door to door service to their clients providing a specialised service assisting their target group to be able to live independently in their own homes.

Bathurst Community Transport Group uses paid drivers for it main transport service in and around Bathurst itself. The service also has the assistance of volunteers. The volunteers provide out of town medical transport, social trips and shopping runs in from the surrounding rural villages that do not have access to public transport (Hill End, Sofala & Rockley). All transport provided is done so using the services own vehicles.

Bathurst Community Transport Group has 4 mini buses 3 of which are wheelchair accessible and three sedan vehicles which supply the out of town transport.

Destinations for transport may include:

  • Shopping
  • Individual social outings
  • Group social outings
  • Doctor’s and Specialist appointments
  • Hospital visits
  • Medical treatments
  • Hairdressers
  • Visiting a friend in another part of town

Transport for clients is orgainised using a booking system. Bookings for the mini buses Monday to Friday are taken at 15 minute intervals, therefore the more notice given to the office for your transport needs assists the service providing a client with appropriate collection and return times. A client will need to book at least 24 hours or more prior to your appointment time. However, you are able to call on the day to ascertain if there are available booking times vacant which you could utilise.

Bathurst Community Transport services are provided by team members who, whilst committed to providing safe and comfortable transport, are not medically trained. Some passengers seeking to use Bathurst Community Transport services are effected by medical condition which require the assistance of highly trained personnel to ensure a safe and comfortable journey and to deal with any medical emergencies which may arise during a service.
